Access Win: Corps Wall is Open to Climbing!
Although the WMCC owns a majority of the cliff at Hanging Mountain, the area known as the ‘Corps Wall’ is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. This impressive vertical face features high quality rock and challenging traditional lines, along with some mixed and sport climbs. Earlier this year, the Hanging Mountain Joint Stewardship committee reached a formal agreement with the Army Corps, which allows the WMCC to manage the cliff and trails. This agreement will be renewed in 5 years.
After many hours of volunteer labor to complete a new access trail, the Corps Wall is now officially open to climbing! The updated PDF guidebook will be available soon. If you appreciate the work we do, please consider becoming a member to support our mission to protect access to our outdoor climbing resources!
