Meeting Minutes: February 19, 2025
A Zoom meeting of the board of directors of Western Mass Climbers Coalition (WMCC, a Massachusetts Nonprofit corporation), was held on December 4, 2024 at 7p ET in accordance with WMCC’s bylaws.
The meeting was called to order at 7:03pm by Andrew Neuman, board president.
Attendees: Stephanie Giguere, Ryan Shumeyko, Rob Sullivan, Regina Madden, Ryan Stefiuk, Danielle Rao, Andy Neuman, Jenifer Dickinson, Laura Davis, Josh Seamon-Ingalls
Access Updates
- Senator Comerford – Update from Rob regarding correspondence with Senator Comerford who is supportive of WMCC activities in Erving and updates to recreational use statute
- Farley Adjacent Parcels – Update from Rob regarding additional Farley parcels, specifically Shermesser parcel
- Discussion of parcel value, future uses, fair market value
- MassTrails Grant application submitted and pending decision
- Great Barrington Access Committee to meet in March
Silent Auction – Stephanie G
- Review of Silent Auction – Need for BOD members to share and bid
Gym to Crag
- Possibly partner with Greater Boston Climbing Guides for gym to crag events
- Board members have no objections to partnership
Board Retreat
- June 27-29 suggested with some discussion about other dates
Quarterly Meeting Venues
- possibly CRG Framingham which works best for many
Kaya – Stephanie
- Discussion about putting information regarding Farley and other WMCC crags on Kaya Application
- Board was uncertain and decided to think about this and circle back
Reel Rock
- Consideration about film Cobra and the Heart
Budget Considerations
- Drafting of budget for upcoming year, members agree to vote on a budget
- Budget to be presented to board prior to open meeting
- Budget approval to occur at open meeting next month.
Discussion about Operating Executive
- Motion to approve raise for OE put forth and approved by all BOD members present
